We are now offering wellness ultrasound screenings! Since our pets are not able to articulate how they are feeling, ultrasound can be a useful tool in detecting early structural changes or disease processes that may be hidden.
The wellness ultrasound screens are performed by Kristin Hart RDMS, RVT, RTR, a multi-boarded ultrasonographer with over 30 years of experience. She is the owner and operator of Advanced Veterinary Ultrasound, LLC.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- Ultrasound is non-invasive and pain-free. It is well tolerated and can be performed on an out-patient basis because most pets do not require sedation.
- We will ask that clients wait for their pet so that they can take them home as soon as they are ready.
- Following review of the ultrasound screening clients will be emailed regarding the findings and any recommendations that Dr. Nicole and Dr. Sarah may have.
- This screening will require that the patient’s belly be shaved and that they are not given food the morning of the appointment. A full bladder is also preferred, if possible, do not allow your pet to urinate for 2 hours prior to appointment.
- The cost of a wellness ultrasound screen is $350.00. A credit card will be required to be placed on file at the time of booking. A 48 hour cancellation notice is required. Late cancellations or no shows will be charged $250.00.
- If serious concerns are noted during the screening, Dr. Nicole or Dr. Sarah will be notified and will be available to determine a treatment plan or course of action.
- Appointments are available 2 Thursdays per month.
Wellness ultrasound screening can only be performed on established patients at Natural Healing Pet Care and for patients with a current doctor-patient relationship (within 1 year).
