In-Office
Euthanasia
Euthanasia is the last selfless gift you can give to your beloved pet to alleviate pain and to prevent any unnecessary suffering. While this is a very difficult decision, our veterinary staff are here to guide you through this difficult time. We offer the option of in-office euthanasia in a calm and peaceful environment, where you can choose to be inside with us or outside in our serene garden by the waterfall. No matter where you feel most comfortable, our goal is to ensure that this final moment is as gentle and peaceful as possible for both you and your pet.
The bond with your pet is special. Eventually, you will be responsible with making end of life decisions for them. Such a decision may become necessary in order to relieve suffering of the mind, body or spirit. It is one of the most difficult decisions you will ever have to make in your lifetime. While your decision is a personal one, it doesn’t need to be a solitary one. There are online resources, books and supportive friends and family that can help you. You may also call us for an appointment to speak with the doctor to help bring clarity on whether or not it is time to help them make their transition.
How Do I Make the Decision?
What to Expect
-
Our goal is to provide a peaceful transition for your pet and a loving goodbye for you.
-
Please let us know if your pet is particularly anxious so that we may discuss with you options for calming them prior to the visit
-
Our veterinarian will discuss the process step by step with you. Some pets would benefit from sedation which is given as a subcutaneous injection and very well tolerated.

Costs of Services
-
Afterward, our doctor will give you time for private goodbyes in your own space, with no rush or time limit.
-
When you are ready, our doctor will administer the injection which is essentially an overdose of anesthesia. This injection causes no pain or fear as it induces an even deeper sleep in which the transition occurs.
-
You will have as much time as you need.
-
Let us know if you would like any keepsakes such as a lock of fur or collar. If desired, we will transport your pet to Faithful Companions for cremation of your choice.

-
In-Office Euthanasia - $225 plus additional costs depending on holiday or after hours appointments
-
Communal Cremation - $100 Your pet will be brought to Faithful Companions crematorium. Their ashes will be respectfully buried at Whispering Pines Pet Cemetery in Ypsilianti, Mi.
